Randomly Rotterdam

Over the Easter weekend, I randomly found myself in Rotterdam, for absolutely no reason other than curiosity. The city was disappointing in the end but there was one cool part that I really liked. The cube apartments are a modern housing project gone right. The collection of angular homes is a small village unto itself. There are gardens, shops, restaurants and even a hostel beneath them.

Most of the apartments enjoy beautiful views of the city and the canals full of boats that wind through it. The top floors of each apartment are an open living room that looks out over the rooftops and there are balconies in the spaces between the cubes. If you visit during the day, apartment 70 is a demo building that you can visit. Take a tour and decide for yourself if you would be able to live in a place with so many angles.
