The Oldest Umbrella Shop

One of the interesting hidden treasures that I stumbled across in London is the oldest umbrella shop in Europe: James Smith & Sons Umbrellas. The business first opened in 1830 but has occupied the same shop on Oxford street since 1857. They still make much of their products on site, though they order some things from other specialty stores in Europe. They will even cut walking sticks to the perfect size while you wait. A parasol from James Smith & Sons is now on my shopping wish list because they still make them in an Edwardian style, though slightly modernized. A ladies parasol starts at 75 pounds and you can order from their website. Definitely check it out!
